HAVE QUESTIONS?

WHAT IS "HIS GIFT OF SIGHT"?

HGOS is a sustainable, socially-conscious ophthalmic clinic offered by Ash Eye Institute. It affords Bahamians, of every socioeconomic class, the opportunity to receive timely ophthalmic care from world renowned ophthalmologists.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE 'SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS'?

Socially-conscious literally means "being my brother's keeper". The objective of HGOS is to offer clinical and surgical ophthalmic care at minimal cost to those who otherwise would not be able to afford the usual cost of quality eye care.

This is made possible by allowing the private arm of Ash Eye Institute to support the social arm (HGOS).

PRIVATE PATIENTS VS. SOCIAL PATIENTS

HGOS offers clinical and surgical eye care to the people of the Bahamas through the donations of medical equipment and supplies, as well as, the financial support of private-paying patients of Ash Eye Institute.

Candidates are approved for social clinic surgery after completion of a screening process at one of our Ash Eye Institute locations.

HOW TO BECOME A SURGICAL CANDIDATE

Make an appointment to have your eyes examined at one of our Ash Eye Institute locations in Nassau or Freeport.

After your examination and screening, you will be given a 'Things To Do' checklist, which must be completed before surgery (i.e. medical clearance, payments etc.)
